Abstract Portrait Step by Step Acrylic Painting on Canvas for Beginners

In this video, we’re gonna get together and learn how to paint an abstract(ish) portrait that says something about YOU. This is a good lesson for beginners on up!

I’m painting on a 16×20-inch stretched canvas, but you can paint on any type and size of canvas you like.

I used:
• A 2-inch flat brush
• A very small round brush
• A 1/2-inch angle brush

I’m using Liquitex Basics and Heavy Body acrylic paint in the following colors:
• Phthalocyanine Blue
• Ivory Black
• Titanium White
• Mars Black
But I encourage you to use any colors that you like, and paint this portrait and background in any way!

Less crazy beauty version (in which I also explain how I made the wig!):

I actually wanted to do this look with an orange wig originally, but I haven’t been able to find the perfect orange wig! So that’s why I used my pink wig 🙂 I’m still learning so please be nice, and I hope you enjoy!
