Learn How to Paint MYSTICAL FAIRY CASTLE with Acrylic – Paint & Sip at Home – Step by Step Tutorial

VIDEO DESCRIPTION This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to paint this realistic fantasy image of “MYSTICAL FAIRY CASTLE” with acrylic paint. You’ll learn simple painting techniques that will help you to develop a realistic landscape with mountains, a lake and an island with a magical castle emerging from the fog. This landscape is being sprinkled with a bit of dust being blown by a beautiful flying fairy with long hair, large wings and a flowing dress. Visualize the sky to be a sunrise or sunset, morning or evening, dawn or dusk… your imagination will steer the evolution of this painting. With the dramatic light from the sky casting highlights and shadows onto the castle walls and the body of the fairy, the painting will come to life with the shimmering reflections in the water. You’ll learn how to add dimension in the landscape and castle with the use of properly placed highlights and shadows, and in the misty fog with a layering technique. You’ll also learn how to paint a reflection in the water using a repetitive process technique. Despite the painting being unrealistic in nature, it will look 3d with the realistic elements, and certain pieces will appear to pop out of the canvas with a real photo quality. With perfectly proportioned features in the fairy body and realistic movement in the wings and clothing being blown by the wind, the feminine person will look like she’s casting a spell onto the building with her spirited dust that she is blowing toward the fortress. The brilliant color in the sky, with the moody clouds, lets you know that the weather is perfect for this adventure. With the construction of the composition you’ll learn to paint this realistic looking outdoor dreamy image with a floating goddess and a castle fit for a king. Creativity is always encouraged, just have fun with it! This painting is sure to impress the viewer and compliment the décor of any room. Using only 2 brushes and 7 colors we’ll create this conversational masterpiece with a magnificent lively landscape and a charming fairy who’s excited about the day in front of her. So let’s get painting and let’s get sipping!

DIY Car Painting Techniques – Spray Gun Overlap For Applying Paint Coatings

http://CollisionBlast.com – Spray overlap is one of the techniques that needs to be mastered to become a better painter. Incorrect overlap can result in too little mill coverage and stripes. In the video, we talk about what overlap is and how to perform proper overlap.

Depending on the paint recommendations, 50% to 75%. Control coats may even recommend up to 90% overlap, but that is for another lesson.

It is also important to start by overlapping each panel edges. For example, half of the spray pattern on the panel and half spraying onto the masking paper. This will assure proper overlap and mill coverage on edges.

It’s really exciting when you finally get dark skin right. I made this video to help you do just that. Here are some tips:
Tip 1) simplify what you are seeing
what I do is break down the image into four main colors to start. The objective here is to fill the canvas with paint the easiest way you can. I do this by choosing 4 colors. I use 1 dark, 2 mediums, and a highlight (see video). I use 8 different colors in all to finish the skin tone and they are pre-mixed. Using 4 keeps you from having to wonder where every color should go.
Tip 2) add more color
After I lay out the 4 colors and cover the canvas, I add 2 more colors. So that brings the total to 6 colors. I don’t add the highlight 2 or dark 2 (see video) because they’re not need at this stage. I build up the color until it’s opaque.
Tip 3) blend the paints
when I begin to blend I add a little water to the paints. It makes it easier to control plus the paint doesn’t get muddy. We have to guard against over painting because the paint is too thin to stick so you’ll end up swirling paint around the canvas or you’ll lift up other layers. The first blend layer looks really rough but just let it dry and start over. At this stage in the game I begin to add dark 2 (see video) because we are getting closer to the finish line. The only color I haven’t added is highlight 2 ( see video) because highlights are the last thing I add in the final stage of the painting.
I hope this helps. Peace

Bleeding Heart on an old Book Page (acrylic painting tutorial)

Today I will show you how to paint a bleeding heart flower in acrylics on an old book page. You can see my Book Safe tutorial here: http://youtu.be/a8WmL5WNLpU
That is where the old book pages came from!

More flower painting tutorilas: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNxvOHHWCjFiHWh-mU32bLng01pXrc1wO

I sealed the book pages with mod-podge and let them dry before painting. If you make a mistake in your painting you can wipe it off with a damp paper towel. You will need acrylic paints in red, yellow, green and white for this project as well as a 1/2″ flat brush and a #5 round.

Have fun painting this quick project then use it to decorate cards or other projects!
